Applied Probability and Statistics
Bulletin Description: Concepts of probability theory, discrete and continuous probability distributions including gamma, beta, exponential and Weibull, descriptive statistics, sampling estimation, confidence intervals, testing of hypothesis, ANOVA and multiple comparisons, linear and multiple regression, correlation, non parametric analysis, contingency table analysis, computer assisted data analysis using appropriate statistical software.
Prerequisite: MA125
Note: This 3 credit hours course is intended for students in Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics. Credit for only one of ST 210 and ST 315 is allowed.

Learning Objectives: This course is intended to help undergraduate students from Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics background to be able to understand the basic probability and statistical concepts of many of the issues encountered in their major field of study. The development of topics is intended to emphasize the intuitive logic and assumptions that underlie the techniques covered, the purposes for which these techniques are designed, and valid interpretations of obtained results.
