Take a Service Learning Course

Definition:

The National Service Learning Clearing House defines Service Learning as “a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities.”

Taking a Service Learning Course:

Many departments at USA offer courses with Service Learning components.  These courses offer an opportunity to apply classroom content to a short or long term community based project.  Students are encouraged to speak with their advisor about opportunities to take Service Learning courses within their course of study.

Connecting to the National Network:
