Expanding Opportunity
Since opening our doors in 1963, the University of South Alabama has become one of the fastest growing universities in the South. Investing in our students’ education and training is at the heart of our new campaign, embodying USA’s mission to make a difference in the lives of those it serves through promoting a positive and lasting impact on society at the regional, national, and global level. This impact is visible in the more than 73,000 degrees awarded to over 64,000 alumni.
Despite the dueling pressures of rising tuition costs and diminishing state support, USA continues to excel. At the University’s 50th anniversary celebration, Abraham Mitchell announced the Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative as a $25 million matching challenge to honor late President Emeritus V. Gordon Moulton. Committed to expanding opportunities for current and future USA students by providing them access to an affordable college education, this campaign will allow us to build on our current base of scholarship support, propelling USA to a nationally competitive level.
This initiative marks a pivotal moment in the University’s future, as it seeks to significantly increase the amount of endowed scholarship funds by $50 million.
We invite you to be a part of this vision.
