Art & Art History Scholarships

The Department of Art & Art History will award each year to a freshman or sophomore Art or Art History major. The scholarship will be awarded in the Spring semester and is not renewable. Portfolio and transcripts required.
This scholarship was established for the purpose of providing financial assistance to deserving students majoring in Glass Art who demonstrate high academic achievement. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA, with preference given to students with a 3.0 or higher.
This scholarship was established in 2008 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to a deserving student majoring in Art or Art History who demonstrates talent and financial need. This scholarship was made possible by Gordon B. and Martha Kahn and is not renewable. Portfolio and transcripts required.

The Lindeman Memorial Scholarship in Art History was established in honor and memory of the parents of Dr. Christina K. Lindeman and their passion for fine arts. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students of Sophomore standing or above, with a 3.0 GPA, majoring or minoring in Art History. Preference will be given to students who propose using the scholarship for study abroad, internship support, or other career or research development in art history.

Scholarship Guidelines:

  1. This scholarship will be applied to your student account in two equal installments; one for fall semester and one for spring semester. If you plan on using these funds during the summer semester, please contact the Office of Scholarship Services. 
  2. This scholarship is for payment of USA tuition and fees, USA housing and USA dining services due each semester.
  3. You must be enrolled full-time each term (excluding summer semester) to be eligible for your scholarship.
  4. Any lapse in enrollment will cancel the remainder of your scholarship.
  5. You must indicate your plans to accept or decline this award within 30 days. All institutional scholarship funds must be used prior to the end of the late registration period (typically the third day of classes).

This scholarship was established in 2013 by Mrs. Moulton in memory of her late husband, former USA President Gordon Moulton, for the purpose of providing financial assistance to students majoring in Visual Arts with a concentration in Glass Art. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA. The scholarship was made possible by the Moulton Family.
The Mary Noland Glass Art Scholarship is awarded to a current, declared, major in Glass within the Department of Art & Art History. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA, with preference given to students with a 3.0 or higher. The scholarship is awarded in the Spring semester and is not renewable. Portfolio and transcripts are required. The scholarship was made possible by Mary Noland.
The Port City Craftsmen, Inc. Endowed Scholarship in Art and Art History was established in April 2023 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to undergraduate students from Mobile County, Alabama who are majoring in Art. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA. The scholarship was made possible by the Port City Craftsmen, Inc. to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding art students. 
This scholarship was made possible by Kate and Henry Seawell, III. This scholarship is awarded to a current Art, or Art History major. The award is made each Spring and is not renewable. Portfolio and transcripts required.
This scholarship was made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Julien E. Marx. The Department of Art & Art History will award each year to a freshman or sophomore Art or Art History major. The scholarship will be awarded in the Spring semester and is not renewable. Portfolio and transcripts required.

Applying for Scholarships

The first step in the scholarship process is to ensure you are fully admitted to the University. Make sure your admission (new students) and status (existing students) is up to date. This will put you in the best position to be considered for awards.

For incoming students, be sure you have completed the checklist for Admissions. For questions about your Admissions status please contact the Office of Admissions.

For current students, as scholarship recommendations and matches are made based upon your major, concentration, and student status, please review your PAWS account and make sure your information is up to date.

The next step in the process is to access the JagSPOT Portal – USA’s Scholarship Program Opportunity Tracker. To do so you will need your JAG Number (Student ID) and your JagNet/JagMail password/credentials. Use your Jag Number, and JagMail credentials to log-in to the JagSPOT Portal.
