Mass Spectrometry Core Facility
Located in the Mitchell Cancer Institute and operating on a fee-for-service basis, the Mass Spectrometry Facility provides a central resource of metabolomics and proteomics measurements to identify, characterize, and quantify metabolites and proteins present in different biological and biomedical samples by using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry. The facility is equipped with two high resolution mass spectrometers: a Thermo LTQ Orbitrap XL, and Thermo Q-Exactive Plus. Also available is a Thermo MSQ Plus mass spectrometer and an Agilent 1200 Series HPLC with UV detection. It is directed by Dr. Marie Migaud, and operated by two dedicated research staff: Mrs. Lindsay Schambeau, Senior Lab Manager, and Michael Russell, Research Technologist.
