Sydney Davis wasn't the kind of child who naturally commanded a room. Today, she's the first person visitors will meet when they walk through the doors of Hatch Fairhope. "I think my younger self would probably say, 'Wow, you're in charge of everything,'" she said.

The University of South Alabama Division of Student Affairs, Office of Student Involvement and Fraternity and Sorority Life recently held their second annual Student Excellence Awards. The ceremony honored student organizations and Greek life for their members' academic achievements, community involvement and leadership skills displayed throughout the 2025-2026 academic year.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, announced the recipients of its annual study abroad grants. The $1,000 grants were awarded to 75 students across the nation, three of which are South students.
