Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching
Earn a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching from the ILC!
This certificate includes two courses:
- Fundamentals in Teaching (FIT1): Science of Learning
- Fundamentals in Teaching (FIT2): Course Design and Assessment
After successfully completing this two-part graduate course series, you will receive a digital badge and certificate from the Innovation in Learning Center.
We’ll explore teaching questions, such as:
- How do we learn? How do we know that we learned something?
- What are learner-centered instructional practices? How do I engage everyone to include all voices?
- What is the role of motivation in the college classroom?
- What is the difference between formative and summative assessments?
- What is my teaching philosophy?
You can expect:
- To practice teaching in a low-stakes environment
- To build your teaching toolkit with learner-centered and equitable teaching practices
- To work on your own and participate in in-person group discussions
- To be inspired to create well-designed lessons and courses (and sign up for FIT2!)
- To craft a research-informed teaching philosophy statement
